Men’s Issues Go Mainstream: Coalition Convenes in Washington, DC for Men’s Equality Month
November 12, 2025 — In a milestone development for gender discourse in America, a diverse alliance of organizations converged in the nation’s capital last week to mark Men’s Equality Month. Leaders from six organizations gathered for a historic series of events to affirm a simple but long-overdue truth: men struggle too, and they need support.
As media outlets nationwide begin to cover male disadvantage as an important gender equality concern, the narrative is shifting. The coalition emphasized that a balanced conversation about gender must recognize when men are victims—of suicide, homelessness, education failure, family court bias, and more. (1)
The following organizations played a pivotal role in Men’s Equality Month events last week in Washington, DC:
- National Council for Equal Shared Parenting: advocates for equal shared parenting. (2)(3)
- National Parents Organization: advocates for equal shared parenting. (4)
- Parental Alienation Study Group (PASG): professionals and research scientists of parental alienation. (5)
- Coalition to Create a White House Council on Boys and Men: seeks federal council for male-focused policy. (6)
- National Family Justice: provides education, support, and resources for parents in family court. (7)
- International Council for Men and Boys (ICMB): advocates globally for men’s rights and equality. (1)
On November 5, a press conference and summit were held that featured presentations in support of rebalancing gender equality conversations:
Press Conference:
- Rep. Jamie Ray Gragg (Missouri): Introduced Missouri’s “Fathership Bill.” (8)
- Rep. Jamie Flick (Pennsylvania): Promoted shared parenting bill. (9)
Summit:
- Warren Farrell (Coalition to Create a White House Council on Boys and Men) and Edward Bartlett (ICMB): critiqued UN’s anti-male bias. (10)
- Benjamin Bailey (By Your Side, Israel): discussed partner abuse against men. (11)
- Don Hubin (National Parents Organization): analyzed unfair child support laws (12)
- Lisa Britton (Contributor – Evie Magazine and LA Times): supports men and encourages other women to join the cause (13)
- William Bernet (Founder, Parental Alienation Study Group): educated against parental alienation misinformation (14)
Men and boys are falling behind in education, mental health, life expectancy, and family connections (1). Men’s Equality Month calls on media, policymakers, and the public to embrace an inclusive gender narrative—one that recognizes that both sexes need support.
The International Council for Men and Boys is a non-governmental organization that is working to celebrate the contributions of men to society and to end the 12 sex disparities that affect men and boys around the world. Achieving #GenderEqualityForMen also will benefit women. https://www.menandboys.net/
