Bringing Men and Boys Back into the Conversation
French professor Olivier Roy recently published a book on the “Crisis of Culture” in which he traces the growth of individual political and sexual freedoms from the 1960s, resulting in the loss of “shared culture” around the world. Evidence of this Crisis of Culture is the global weakening of the family, a dramatic fall in fertility rates, and the expansion of totalitarian ideologies. Underlying these changes is a decades-long cultural neglect of men and their concerns.
The International Council for Men and Boys, leader in the global movement to address the disparities affecting men and boys, is a non-governmental organization working to assure gender equality for all. The International Council for Men and Boys sponsors Men’s Equality Month, observed every year in November.
